Three small groups of survivors of a zombie plague join forces to reach the ferry boat to a sanctuary that they are not sure that it does exist in the Catalina Island. Along their journey, they are hunted down by hordes of zombies and only a few of them survive.
When I started watching this dreck it was pretty good, then the credit sequence ended. From there it wasn't just downhill. More like stepping off a cliff. I spent most of this film alternating between outright laughter (it wasn't supposed to be funny) and saying "Wha? Why would anyone do that?". This was obviously just a hastily made attempt to jump on the "Walking Dead" bandwagon. The characters decisions and reactions were just ridiculous (re: a bunch of zombies coming? Don't run, just stand there and scream till they get to you from across the street). The editing and direction were waaaay below even "made for TV" standards. Really. One character had constantly styled hair, full of product. Really? In a "Zombie Apocalypse" that much hair gel was a concern? The Tiger scene at the end was so poorly done, it was almost painful to watch. (re: Character sees the feeding pit, so decides to YELL to her friends about it. As in "HEY GUYS, THERE MIGHT BE SOMETHING INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS OVER HERE!") Seriously this "Film" is all about what the stupidest people on earth would do in a Zombie epidemic made by a very untalented production team. Lack of budget doesn't explain the laughable dialogue, acting, editing or direction. The girl with the sword, a clear attempt at ripping off the "Michonne" character from the Walking Dead comic series, had obviously not received any training with the thing and lookedif she had never even held the weapon before. This is very much a case of "If you can't do it well, don't do it". Honestly, don't waste your time. It's just boring and quite frustrating to know that someone got funding for this while talented filmmakers are out there with more skill, not getting any. Utter embarrassing garbage. This production team should be blacklisted forever. This was on TV for free and I still feel like I got ripped off.
I really liked the little different takes on zombies in this film, like the little air horn the dude throws out that the zombies are attracted too, the chick doing the shot and drop, shooting the furthest zombie, to attract the rest to escape, the pee buddy so they never are alone, or the zombies starting the fire, to lure the survivors in to an ambush, or the different zombies tags, like the shambles and the runners, little different takes on the zombie film, all the lots of little things it had in there I hadn't quite seen before.<br/><br/>But in-between the action, which is cool with mallets slamming down on heads, samurai like swords slicing people in halves, that chick looks cool the way she wields the sword, don't mess with her, loved watching it, we have the character moments, see the characters, their relationships, but you gotta love also ass frigging machine gun, wooah, loved the frigging machine bit dude! yeaaahhhh!!! <br/><br/>The cast, the girls looking sexy, the chick with samurai sword, what an athletic body, hot, and the little chick with the spiked up hair and bow and arrow, little pixie chick, she's hot ass, and the guys look like they can kick kick ass, especially ving rhames, when he comes charging in, like a monster ball of wrecking ball energy.<br/><br/>Looks pretty well shot too, obvious low budget, some visually stunning shots, it's cool to look at, things suchthe city streets with buss laying idle across streets, or aircraft wreckage strewn across the groundthey sit in field working out their next move.<br/><br/>Yeah, I really liked it, for a zombie movie, interesting characters you could follow, good different kills, arrow, sword, mallet, pistols and machine gun lol <br/><br/>Cool little film that I reckon :)

The government doesn't set off EMPs to stop zombies, it sets them off to stop people who have the zombie plague but have not yet turned into zombies. This was done because infected people were fleeing from urban areas by car, train, plane, etc., and were only spreading the plague faster. Having watched all of Europe and the Pacific Rim countries collapse in just days or weeks to the plague, the government used EMPsa last, desperate measure. It didn't work.
